Description

In 1958, 100 nomads set out from Kham in the east of Tibet to walk to freedom. They were fleeing the destruction of their monasteries, culture and people by the invading Chinese army.

In Fifty Years a Refugee, you can hear the voices of some of these nomads, and their children, 50 years later.

With heartfelt words from the refugees themselves, and more than 100 coloured photographs, Fifty Years a Refugee tells a story of loss, courage and patience.

It is a rare look into the hearts and minds of Tibetan refugees who live in isolation in the centre of India.
